Victoriahöhe Viewpoint on Lake Großräschener See
The Victoriahöhe viewpoint provides a panoramic view of Lake Großräschener, the IBA Terraces, pier, vineyard, Großräschen harbour and the Avenue of Stones. The Victoriahöhe viewpoint is a heap created from dumped material from the former Meuro surface mine on the site of the former Victoria I briquette factory. The small hill is crowned by a steel viewing platform, designed to look like a ship, about 138 metres above sea level. Information panels explain what can be seen in the distance and remind visitors of villages that have disappeared into the surface mining pit. On a clear day, you might even be able to see the stand of the Lausitzring race track and the power stations at Schwarze Pumpe and Jänschwalde. The striking viewpoint is adorned from the inside with illustrations from the campaign "From Miner to Mariner". They show new harbours, conveyor bridges, floating houses, mining equipment, lighthouses, miners, ships and vacationers, cyclists, bathers or boaters.
