Discovering nature
The Lusatian Lakeland comprises a wide variety of different natural landscapes. These are best explored by visiting the region’s unique parks and gardens or participating in a guided tour of the Lusatian Lakeland nature conservation project.
In this region, a landscape undergoing a transformation can be experienced in a relaxed manner. The German Rose Garden in Forst (Lusatia) is the perfect place for a peaceful stroll amid nearly 1,000 varieties of blooming roses. At Nochten Boulder Park, you can feast your eyes on an abundance of heathers in all colours and, above all, an impressive display of more than 7,000 ice age boulders from Scandinavia. A visit to one of the region’s many viewpoints and landmarks offers more panoramic views of the landscape and lakes. For those travelling with children, a trip to Hoyerswerda zoo or Senftenberg wildlife park could be a fun way to spend a day outdoors in the Lusatian Lakeland.
