Viewing towers
Don’t forget to climb some of the viewing towers dotted around the Lusatian Lakeland! The landscape of this region is transforming continuously and seems to look different from every angle – the perfect place to explore from a bird’s-eye view. Sweeping vistas and surprising perspectives are guaranteed.
The Steinitzer Treppe (Steinitz stairs) and the Welzower Fenster (Welzow window) provide vantage points near active open-cast mines and enable visitors to observe the extraction processes from a close distance. Viewing towers such as the Schiefer Turm (leaning tower) at Lake Senftenberg, the viewing tower on Lake Felix or the Lusatian Lakeland landmark known as the Rostiger Nagel (rusty nail) offer panoramic views of the lakes from a lofty height.
And the Lauchhammer bio towers provide not only stunning 360° views of the area but also interesting insights into Lusatia’s industrial heritage.
