Lake Sabrodt
Sabrodter See is currently being flooded and is partly located in the restricted area. It is being created from the residual hole of the northern edge of the Spreetal open-cast mine. Lake Sabrodt is being flooded and will be connected to the adjacent Lake Bluno, Lake Bergen and Lake Spreetal via canals in the future. The connections between the Lake Sabrodt and the Lake Bluno (Überleiter 3) as well as to the Lake Spreetal (Überleiter 1) have already been completed and can be used after the completion of the still pending rehabilitation of some lake shore areas and the subsequent flooding.
The high touristic importance of Lake Sabrodt results from the very good conditions for the settlement of a large-scale tourism project on its north-eastern shore.
Cycling is possible on the asphalted shore path, an existing service road of the mining rehabilitator LMBV, in the northern area.
Lake Sabrodt is currently not usable for tourism due to the large-scale closures.
